How is the Stealth 600 Gen 3 So Adapable?
Before my Stealth 600 Gen 3 review, I was skeptical about how seamlessly the headset could move between platforms. My doubtfulness disappeared when I tested it with a PC, PS5, and smartphone. Turtle Beach sells a few versions of the Stealth 600 Gen 3, with the Xbox variety most recommended. This version works with Xbox and PlayStation consoles, a rare feat among cordless headsets. Bluetooth connectivity is universal, and a physical QuickSwitch button toggles between devices.

Software is a critical component of any multi-platform headset. After I received the Stealth 600 Gen 3, I had issues staying connected in the Swarm II PC app. These problems were likely a result of Turtle Beach acquiring Roccat and adapting its software for new products. Updates have mostly addressed these nuisances. Meanwhile, Turtle Beach supplies console and mobile gamers with a handy mobile app. Buyers can travel with the Stealth 600 Gen 3 and experience the same soundscape regardless of platform.
The Stealth 600 Gen 3 has a conventional design with large oval earcups. Available in two colorways, the lighter version is the most discounted to please fans of white PC builds. Despite a rather bulky exterior, the headset weighs a modest 320 grams. That's impressive, considering its 80-hour battery life is much higher than most competitors. The Stealth 600 Gen 3's fit on the snug side and larger gamers may find it a tight squeeze. Still, a woven fabric covering memory foam ear cushions remains cool even after long gaming sessions.
Turtle Beach's Superhuman Hearing targets aspiring competitive gamers. The feature amplifies the footsteps of enemies, which is critical for any Counter-Strike 2 headset. Benefiting from 50 mm Nanoclear Drivers, the Stealth 600 Gen 3 is also a great match for cinematic single-player titles. With most profiles, the headset doesn't exaggerate bass, and music and dialogue remain audible.
Some shortcomings are expected from a $70 wireless headset. Many affordable options suffer from crackling voice recordings. However, the Stealth 600 Gen 3's flip-to-mute microphone has excellent mic quality. AI noise-cancelling adds to its clarity by removing background distractions. On the other hand, breathable fabric ear cushions aren't the best choice for passive noise cancellation.
It's difficult to locate another reasonably priced headset with flexible compatibility, like the Stealth 600 Gen 3. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 is a logical alternative since the Xbox version functions with the PS5. PC gamers will appreciate its complex software that encourages endless tweaks. With a larger budget, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 becomes a possibility. We recently reviewed the high-end peripheral with massive 60 mm drivers and simultaneous Bluetooth/2.4 GHz wireless audio.
